Roommate expenses: common questions
How do you split rent fairly when rooms are different sizes?
Agree on a percentage for each room, for example 40/30/30, and use it when you add the rent. Split & Done applies those shares to the amount and makes sure they add up to the total.
What happens when a roommate moves out?
Settle their balance first by recording the payments. Split & Done only lets someone leave the group, or be removed, once they have nothing pending in any currency.
Do all roommates need an account?
No. You can add a roommate by name and include them in expenses; the rest of the house keeps their share up to date.
